An Individual Retirement Account (IRA) is an excellent way to supplement your retirement funds. If you work and are under age 70 1/2, no matter how much you earn or whether you have retirement plan coverage, you can open an IRA.
Ohio Valley Community Credit Union offers members IRAs with terms of 6 months to five years at competitive rates; the longer the term, the better the rate. Your IRA earns dividends; your funds and the dividends aren't taxed until you start to withdraw from your IRA during retirement; and all or part of your IRA contribution may be deductible from your federal income tax returns during your earning years. Check with your tax advisor.
High IRA Rewards Without High Risk!
Here's a winning combination--an investment that lets your IRA dollars earn stock market-based dividends without risking your deposit. It's called the Market Index Certificate, and it's available here.
The Market Index Certificate is an insured certificate that earns dividends based on the change in the Standard & Poor's 500 Composite Stock Price Index (S&P 500). If the S&P 500 is higher on the day the certificate matures than on the day you purchase it, you earn a dividend rate that is a percentage of the increase. If the S&P 500 declines or remains unchanged, you won't earn dividends. However, you won't lose your initial deposit, either.
